NeatPencil gives teachers, parents and tutors free handwriting worksheets and practical guides. We work hard to get them right, but please read the points below before relying on them.
Handwriting styles are modelled, not official
Each worksheet style uses a free font designed to follow a school handwriting style, such as NSW Foundation style or UK pre-cursive. Apart from Playwrite NZ Basic, which is part of the font family New Zealand’s Ministry of Education uses, these are not the official fonts of any education department or handwriting program. Schools and states publish their own alphabet charts, and small details can differ from one chart to the next, so print one page and compare it with your school’s chart before making a class set.
NeatPencil isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any education department, school, handwriting program or font designer. Trademarks such as D’Nealian and Zaner-Bloser belong to their owners and are named only to describe a style.
Guides are general information
Our guides on teaching handwriting are general information for teachers and parents, based on the sources listed in each one. They aren’t professional advice and can’t take account of a particular child. If you’re worried about a child’s handwriting, fine motor skills or development, talk to their teacher, an occupational therapist or a doctor.
Printing
Worksheets are made to print true to size on A4 or US Letter paper at 100% scale. Printers and print settings vary, so check the first page before printing a whole set. Choosing the right style, size and activity for a child is up to you.
Accuracy
We check our worksheets and guides carefully, but mistakes can slip through and information can go out of date. If you spot an error, please tell us and we’ll fix it.
Links to other websites
Guides link to education departments, research and other useful sources. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, privacy practices or availability.
Advertising
There are no ads on NeatPencil yet. When there are, they will be chosen by the ad network, not by us, and showing an ad doesn’t mean we recommend what it offers.
Limits of liability
NeatPencil is provided free and as is, without warranties of any kind. As far as the law allows, Zactonz Technologies, which runs NeatPencil, isn’t liable for any loss arising from use of the site, its worksheets or its guides. Nothing on this page limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded. See also our terms of use.
