Copyright and DMCA

Last updated: 29 October 2026

This page explains who owns what on NeatPencil, how you can use the worksheets you make, and how to tell us if you believe something on the site infringes your copyright.

What we own

The NeatPencil name and logo, the guides, page text, the shape and picture drawings, the worksheet layouts and the website’s design and code are the work of Zactonz Technologies, which runs NeatPencil, and are protected by copyright.

Worksheets you make

Worksheets are free to print, copy and share for teaching: in your class or school, at home, in tutoring and in therapy sessions, including paid lessons. The names and words you type are yours, and we never see them.

Please don’t sell the worksheets themselves, for example as printable packs on a marketplace, and don’t republish our guides or drawings as your own. Linking to any page on NeatPencil is welcome, and you may quote a short passage from a guide if you credit NeatPencil and link to the guide.

Fonts and trademarks

The handwriting fonts are not ours. They are made by other designers and used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows them to be used in worksheets like these. Our font credits page names every font and links to its licence.

Names of handwriting programs and school styles, and trademarks such as D’Nealian, belong to their owners. We use them only to describe which style a worksheet follows, and NeatPencil isn’t affiliated with their owners.

Reporting copyright infringement

Everything on NeatPencil is published by us: visitors can’t upload or post content. If you believe something we’ve published uses your work without permission, email [email protected] with the subject line “Copyright notice”. We follow the notice-and-takedown process of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and we handle notices under the laws of other countries, such as the UK, Australia and New Zealand, in the same way.

To let us act quickly, please include:

  1. The work you believe has been copied, such as a link to it or a description of it.
  2. The web address of each page on NeatPencil where the material appears, and which part of the page it is.
  3. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
  4. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn’t authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough).

What happens next

We’ll confirm we’ve received your notice and review it promptly. If it’s complete and valid, we’ll remove the material or disable access to it and let you know. If we need more information, we’ll ask. Under the DMCA, anyone who knowingly makes a false claim that material infringes copyright can be liable for damages, so please check before you send a notice.

If you’d like to use NeatPencil content in a way this page doesn’t cover, ask us at the same address.
